Thursday there were transfers and first I got up at 4:00 in the morning and had to catch a train by 5:50ish then we had to get off wait in Pordenone for Anz. Glowa and waited for the next train then we got on and had 1 hour and half left until we had to get on another train to take us to Milan. From Gorizia to Pordenone is already 2 hours then another 2 hours from the train in Mestre to Milan. It was great to have the long train rides because I was able to talk to Anz.Glowa on the way to end for him because he went home the next day back to Canada. It seemed like he was extremely happy but sad at the same time and maybe a little nervous. I'm sure it was crazy for him. I just cant believe he was training me a year ago and is home now almost for a week!
Then as usual we got burger king at the Milan station and I was able to take with Anziano Mendel. he went to Florence to finish his mission; he only has 3 transfers left. Then after I ate I took the train to Torino which was also 2 hours; so in all it was 8ish hours of train rides! Then right when I show up I had to take my luggage to our house and then we had a lesson with a new referral from the sisters and we set a baptism date with her for the 11th of November but it will be hard because she is Chinese and doesn't speak English and little Italian but there is a Chinese member in Collegno, a city close to ours, that will help us. Then we did our shopping and taught English class! I was the most tired I have ever been in my life!!! from 4 in the morning to 1030.
Then Friday we planned for the week and then I can't really remember what we did because it is in my other planner. Saturday we had general conference at 6 to 8 at night because of the time difference. Then Sunday we had Priesthood session at 11 in the morning then after that we had lunch with our district which is us, one other companionship of sisters and elders and then some young adults. It was pretty fun; everyone brought a little something and then half way through while we were eating an x sister missionary from the south was there and she was one of my favorite sisters because she has an amazing fun personality but from what I have heard all southern Italians are like that. Then we saw another session of general conference and then we had a lesson with a 17 year old girl and we also set a baptism date with her for the 11th of November. Then we had our last session of general conference because we can't watch the Sunday night one because of the time zones.
So just arriving here has been pretty great; general conference and 2 baptism dates set! Then Monday we had zone meeting and some things changed. No we can't count member lessons anymore like when we go see active members we used to count it as a lesson and now we can't and also all the lessons have to have a starting prayer, then teach, and end with a prayer and so our lesson count of around 20 lessons every week is going to go down the drain for a while. I was just thinking to my self , I am getting to old for this stuff, just like in lethal weapon. I have like 5 transfers left and then they make a huge change. It's going to be hard to teach this old dog the new tricks, haha. But i guess I will just have to push through it and try to change with the mission.
Then yesterday, Tuesday, we had a lesson with a new convert of 80 something years old with her daughter and she also has a baptism date and is really looking for the truth so as of now we have 3 baptism dates. I hope they all go through it would be amazing!! Today we aren't sure what to do so will take a look around the city and find a tourist place so I can know what there is to do here.
My new companion is Anziano Romeo. He his is from Rome but born in Sicily and I think we should get along just fine. It's just hard on my brain to always be speaking in Italian like my first couple of days I just had a major headache. Mow its fine though. As for the apartment it is disgusting; worst apartment I have ever been in! The shower was just completely black like the bathtub, the wallpaper is peeling everywhere, the balcony door won't open because it's broken and we are in bunk beds and I'm on top. So we kinda need a new apartment. I tried cleaning up but its just not worth it. And man this city is big! It is really weird to go from a city that had no one to a city that is just bombarded with people/ I have small difficulty sleeping at night because there is so much traffic outside our window. In Gorizia there was nothing!! It was so nice! I miss that city soo much! And I miss the Bressan's a ton, they were literally my Italian family! I actually cried a bit when I left the city.
Tell Ameilia congrats for me and I haven't got anything from Parker yet but we'll see. Our address is Corso Grosseto 59 10100 Torino TO, Italia. Oh and I won't be able to see Giacomo but i will definitely write him.
Love,
Jake
