Wow, one year in the field this Friday!!!! I can’t believe it, its soo great!! One year in Italy !! The first few months were very difficult to get used to the difference of the culture and things but now I just love it here! Obviously I still miss America but I just have learned to love this place sooo much!
Well, last Wednesday was soo great! The mountain trip was amazing I drank water from the runoff and oh my goodness the best water I have ever drank in my life!!! And it was amazingly clear!! The waterfall we went to see was soo beautiful but to get there we had to walk a half marathon 12 kilometers there and back but we hitched hiked on the way down. and the guy who gave us a ride knows Lance Armstrong!
On Thursday we went to see a couple members and one of them cooked lunch for us. She is so great. She is the one that told me that I gave her goosebumps when I gave my testimony. Lunch was soo good, I loved it and then we gave her a spiritual message and she invited her friend on Sunday.
Then we went to the members house that seemed mad at us to work on her farm they have 49 acres of land and she cooked really good and then we got watermelon that was yellow inside. Holy cow it was good it looked like mtn. dew, the best water melon I have ever had and we will be back this Friday. Then we did some more service for the gypsy lady. we should be done soon in a couple weeks hopefully.
Then church was normal and we just had a ton of finding work to do. Monday we went to Pordenone for a new thing called zone meeting which is like district meeting but with the zone. It’s just like a big gathering to talk to missionaries. It was really good and the elderly couple brought mtn. dew and dr. pepper from the military base. I haven’t had mtn. dew of course in over a year and when I saw it I just freaked out haha. I drank a lot of it and my hand was twitching.
Tuesday we had our apartment inspected and they brought mtn. dew and peanut butter, how great of a day was that! Then we had lunch with a family, The Bressan's, they are just soo great and we have dinner with them again tonight with a missionary from 5 years ago.
Thursday we will go to Venice again and then I will buy some cufflinks and shirts and yes I bought some shoes, they are soo nice and the shoes Richard has been wearing have been in style, just take away the designs on them with plain leather and they will be in better style. Yes the sales have started, They are so great, up to 70% off on some things!
For the Olympics we saw Usain Bolt run, gosh dang he is sooo fast its ridiculous!! It is super hot here too, my companion put a temperature gauge in the sun and it said 49 degrees Celsius which is like 120ish I think with humidity. It’s not that bad because there is always wind!
Well that’s about it other than we are still and always looking to find investigators!!!!
Love you and have a great week!
Jake
